We head into 2024 with more than 10 active investment arbitrations engagements involving the nations of India, Perú, Panama, Ghana, Kenya, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Bolivia, as well as engagements concerning economic damages in contractual disputes.

Over the course of 2023, Quadrant’s damages and valuation experts:

  • Were retained by government clients for several new engagements, including the following: (i) Panama for a construction industry dispute; (ii) Perú for a telecommunications arbitration; (iii) Bolivia for a case involving financial and insurance activities; (iv) Ghana for an oil and gas case; (v) Ghana for a dispute with a software company responsible for tracking Ghana’s imports and exports; and (vi) Uganda for a transportation dispute involving the operation of a railway. We were also retained by a Peruvian construction company involved in a dispute related to the purchase of a cement company.
  • Testified at 12 hearings across the globe, in the cities of Washington D.C., Lisbon, London, Paris, and the Hague.
  • Submitted more than 20 expert reports to international tribunals under the major arbitration forums: the International Chamber of Commerce, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law.
  • Juan F. Riveros presented as a panelist in the “Common methodologies to calculate damages” conference at Arbitration Week 2023, Peruvian Arbitration Institute, August 21-25, 2023.

Further, in 2023 four of Quadrant’s valuation and damages experts – Dr. Daniel Flores, Mr. Jordan Heim, Mr. Ettore Comi and Mr. Ryan McCann – were recognized by Who’s Who Legal (WWL) as among the world’s leading economic expert witnesses in Arbitration, Energy, and Mining. Learn more.

Lastly, Quadrant welcomed two new colleagues to our growing team, Francesco Benatti and Zen Manne.

  • Mr. Benatti has experience conducting complex micro and macroeconomic analysis. He has a master’s in Economic Policy from Boston University. He is fluent in English, Italian, and French, and has intermediate fluency in Spanish.
  • Ms. Manne has 5 years of experience in the financial services industry. Her experience covers market risk, portfolio management, quantitative research, financial analysis, and macroeconomic analysis of countries and industries. She has her master’s in Economics from New York University and is fluent in English, Hindi, and Marathi.
